REMONDIS has a global workforce of over 32,000 people. People who work in a whole range of professions and yet who all have one common goal: to conserve our planet's raw materials and protect our environment. Both these factors are extremely important in today's world of work, where increasingly people are looking for jobs that reflect their lifestyles – evaluating them according to criteria such as sustainability and meaningfulness. Not only are our operations themselves meaningful but also the actual manner in which we work. Our focus is on creating flat hierarchies, high levels of responsibility and great opportunities for our employees to carve out an attractive career for themselves as well as on offering our staff ongoing further training courses and the opportunity to take part in our international management trainee programmes.
Work is not a privilege but should be available to everyone irrespective of their level of education or social background. This has been one of REMONDIS‘ guiding principles since its foundation over 80 years ago. Highly qualified managers can find a job at our company as can workers with few or no qualifications, who may otherwise have problems getting a foothold on the job market. Our aim is to strengthen social equilibrium and promote social cohesion.
Well aware of our international responsibilities, we also invest in companies and regions that, at first glance, may not seem to be profitable. This is where we benefit, for example, from our innovative strength. It enables us to increase the profitability of a business – even a business that had previously been classified as critical – and so secure the jobs of those working there and even create new jobs. We are able to contribute towards improving living conditions and establishing environmental standards in different regions around the world. Examples here include our plastics recycling facilities in Taiwan and our water management operations in India, all of which are run strictly in line with REMONDIS‘ standards.
