Timber. A renewable raw material.
Old furniture, used pallets, cases, boards or sawmill waste – the significance of old and waste timber as a raw material is growing. In order to ensure that the material can be returned to the market, we sort it, screen it and cut it up in modern processing facilities. The quality of the processed wood then determines its later use: better batches can be used for materials recycling, for example as a raw material for chipboard. We process the poorer qualities into substitute fuel or use it ourselves to generate energy, for example in our biomass-fired power plant in Lünen.
REMONDIS returns around 540,000 tonnes of timber to the market every year. |
