One example among many: the quality of water used to produce paints and varnishes is extremely important. The final products can only be of a top quality if the water has been completely deionised.

Water is essential for many production processes. It is used as process water or is added directly to products. REMONDIS processes this important source material for a huge variety of uses. For water is not simply water. On the contrary, we differentiate – as do our customers – between different kinds of water, for example industrial water, drinking water or purified water, decarbonised or deionised. Special specifications are normally requested as many industrial branches need special qualities of water in order to increase the quality of their products or to ensure production processes run smoothly.

The most important qualities of water Industrial water Industrial water is water that is used for technical, commercial or agricultural purposes. It is not suitable for drinking but must satisfy the requirements of the process for which it is to be used.   Drinking water Drinking water is fresh water of such high quality that it can be consumed by humans. The quality of the water is guaranteed through legal stipulations.   Purified water Purified water is pure H2O and so contains no impurities. It is needed in many kinds of production processes, for example to produce medicines or computer chips.   Special water We ensure water has exactly the right properties that our customers need for their production processes – for example by removing or adding salts or minerals. The possibilities here are not only varied but practically unlimited.

Companies that need large volumes of water must not always use fresh sources of water. If they use the right concept, then water can be used again and again by circulating it around the production processes – the same is often true, too, for the auxiliary production materials contained in the water.
