Hazardous waste.
A source of raw materials that shouldn't be underestimated.
REMONDIS is constantly testing and optimizing processes to allow materials, that are hard to recycle, to be fed back into the economic cycle.
Hazardous waste has to be handled with extra special care. Whether it is solvents, plant fertilizer, mouse poison or spray paint: they must all be collected by professionals and be treated by professionals. For, if you know how to handle this material, then it is not just critical waste but also a highly interesting source of raw materials – and this is true for the experts at REMONDIS who specialize in recycling hazardous materials.
What does REMONDIS do with hazardous waste?
Depending on the contents, the hazardous waste undergoes a very wide variety of treatment processes. REMONDIS has a total of 44 facilities for treating hazardous waste. The most important step in all procedures is to first reduce or eliminate the potential danger for humans and the environment – for once the waste is no longer hazardous it can be recycled far more efficiently. Whatever is unable to be re-used despite the complex procedures can still be used to generate energy.
We have not gone into greater detail here because the different procedures used are very complicated. Should you be interested in having a look behind the scenes, then visit the website of our subsidiary REMONDIS Industrie Service.
