CDs and DVDs.
An all-round success.
CDs and DVDs are first shredded. We then clean the material and process it into high quality granulate.
Whether it's a freebie from a computer magazine, a trial CD from an Internet provider or a data storage medium for music, films or games: the number of waste digital data storage mediums in households, i.e. CDs and DVDs, is increasing all the time. And they are perfect for recycling and for feeding back into the production cycle – provided that they have been thrown away separately.
What does REMONDIS do with CDs and DVDs?
Digital data storage mediums consist of polycarbonate, a plastic than can be recycled very well. We separate the high quality raw material in special plants. It is suitable, for example, for making the outer casing of computers. The automobile industry, though, also likes to use polycarbonate – for example, to produce high quality components for car interiors.

The plastic, polycarbonate, of which CDs and DVDs are made, is a high quality raw material. Once it has been recycled, it has a very wide range of uses – not only to make new silver discs but also for the outer casing of equipment used to play them.
