Water management. A sophisticated task which we face with great commitment.
In the natural world, water circulates in a never-ending cycle: it evaporates, rises up into the atmosphere, condenses and falls back to earth as rain or snow. A perfect cycle which is, however, interrupted by humans. And although the earth's water resources are limited, demand is growing. More and more water is being needed across the world. And it is impossible to cut corners when it comes to the quality of water as water means life. REMONDIS has been active within water management since 1983. Today we play a double role in this important field of business: in water supply and in wastewater treatment. In both areas, REMONDIS carries out complex tasks for municipalities, water boards and companies, at the same time helping them to reduce the amount of money they need to invest.
Drinking water – a scarce commodity |
The homes of 2.4 billion people across the world are not connected to a sewage system. 1.2 billion people do not have enough drinking water. Global water consumption is growing at twice the rate of the growth of the world's population. Experts are expecting consumption to have increased by 40 percent by 2025. And yet only 2.5 percent of the water on the earth's surface is freshwater, a vital foodstuff for us. REMONDIS is contributing towards ensuring that there will be sufficient drinking water in the future, too. |
