Priority put on averting risks and protecting health: Disposing of waste whilst avoiding harmful influences – this was the main goal of the 70s. Practicable collection bins were designed, safe landfills built and disposal processes created for hazardous waste. Recycling played, at best, a minor role during this period. more |
